Lower Key Stage 2 Teacher – Requirements

• Be a fully qualified teacher with appropriate Key Stage 2 training and teaching experience.

• Hold a valid Teachers Service Commission (TSC) certificate if applying from Kenya, or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) for applicants from overseas.

• Have previous teaching experience within schools that follow the British Curriculum.

• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with pupils, parents, families, and fellow staff members.

• Create an engaging, stimulating, and supportive classroom environment that encourages effective learning.

• Demonstrate initiative, flexibility, and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.

• Take an active and proactive role as a member of The Banda School staff and show enthusiasm for participating in the wider life of a leading preparatory school.

• Maintain punctuality and make effective use of allocated preparation time.

• Communicate clearly and effectively with both children and adults.

• Demonstrate strong organizational and time-management abilities.

• Possess a good standard of written English.

• Integrate ICT effectively into teaching, with familiarity using interactive displays and iPads being important.

• Provide a clean Police Clearance Certificate or International Certificate of Child Protection (ICPC).

• Actively safeguard and promote the welfare, safety, and wellbeing of pupils.

• Keep informed about developments in education and apply current best practices in teaching and learning.
