About the Role
The teacher will be responsible for delivering English and Literature lessons while creating a supportive learning environment that helps students achieve strong academic and personal outcomes. The role involves lesson preparation, student engagement, classroom management, assessment, and participation in wider school activities.
Key Responsibilities
Teach English and Literature according to the required curriculum and learning objectives.
Build respectful and professional relationships with students, parents or guardians, and fellow staff members.
Prepare lesson plans and work with the Curriculum Development Manager to review or improve learning materials when necessary.
Maintain an organized classroom environment that supports learning and is suitable for the students' age, interests, and development.
Make lessons engaging by encouraging students to develop enthusiasm and interest in their academic work.
Adapt teaching approaches and provide appropriate support to meet individual students' academic and cultural needs.
Take responsibility for students' understanding and achievement of the required content and academic standards.
Use interactive technology and digital tools to improve lesson delivery.
Establish challenging but achievable academic expectations and provide regular feedback to help students improve.
Apply classroom behaviour expectations consistently and demonstrate appropriate conduct for students to follow.
Contribute toward the academic and organizational goals of a growing school.
Take assigned teacher-on-duty or boarding teacher-on-duty responsibilities and participate in school-wide behaviour support programmes.
Maintain accurate student academic records and communicate learners' progress to NP families and other relevant stakeholders when required.
Support clubs, societies, and other co-curricular activities that contribute to students' overall development.
Take on homeroom teacher responsibilities when assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
TSC certification.
Relevant Degree in Education with English and/or Literature as the teaching subjects.
1–2 years of teaching experience.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to adapt to changes and work effectively in situations involving uncertainty and complexity.
Proactive approach to identifying challenges and developing practical solutions.
