Key Responsibilities
- Operate hydrogen and nitrogen gas plants safely
- Ensure a consistent supply of nitrogen and hydrogen gases to the MCL and annealing furnace
- Regularly check the condition of equipment and report any malfunctions to the production supervisor and maintenance supervisor
- Record all process parameters in shift log sheets
- Identify and resolve issues when there are process problems and take preventive or corrective actions
- Report all equipment failures to the metal coating line production engineer
- Safely handle LPG offloading and ensure a steady supply to the Metal Coating Line, Colour Coating Line, and ARP
- Work with the production team to ensure daily production and quality goals are met
- Prepare Flash Reports on gas plant operations
- Prepare daily LPG consumption reports
- Implement 6S practices in gas plants
- Prepare and maintain potassium hydroxide solution for the hydrogen plant
- Participate in shutdown activities as needed
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Hold a diploma in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Instrumentation, or a related field
- Minimum of three years of experience in a process industry setting, such as oil & gas, petrochemical plants, refineries, or industrial gas operations
- Ability to read and understand P&IDs and process flow diagrams
- Knowledge of DCS/SCADA systems and process control operations
- Strong communication skills in both English and Swahili

- Petrochemical or refinery environments
- Air Separation Units (ASUs) and Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) systems
- LPG storage and handling facilities
- Process plants that use DCS/SCADA control systems
