Tour Sales Consultant at Africa Safari Trips
About this role
Travel Consultant – Safari & East Africa
We’re looking for an experienced travel professional who can take clients from their first inquiry to the end of their safari journey, making sure every detail is handled clearly, accurately, and on time.
This role combines travel consulting, booking administration, client communication, and sales. You’ll be dealing directly with international travellers, shaping their itineraries, coordinating booking details, and stepping in quickly whenever plans change.
What you’ll be responsible for
From the initial WhatsApp message, email, or phone call through to post-trip feedback, you’ll be a key point of contact for clients.
Your day-to-day work will include:
Responding to client questions and managing booking and payment conversations across WhatsApp, email, and telephone.
Turning client requirements into well-organized, detailed safari itineraries covering the requested services.
Preparing invoices for confirmed bookings and following up on outstanding payments.
Keeping clients informed whenever there are changes to their bookings or travel plans, both before departure and while they are travelling.
Monitoring the client experience and dealing with potential issues before they become larger problems.
Resolving travel-related concerns promptly and professionally to maintain a positive safari experience.
Collecting feedback after trips and following up on any concerns raised by clients.
Contributing to weekly and monthly sales objectives.
What you need to bring
A Diploma or Degree in Tour Administration, Tour Consulting, Tourism Management, Hotel Management, Hospitality, or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience within the travel industry, particularly in tour consulting or hotel operations.
Strong written and spoken English, with confidence communicating with international English-speaking travellers.
Demonstrated experience selling East African travel destinations, particularly Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
The ability to manage several client requests at once without losing accuracy or responsiveness.
Excellent organization and deadline-management skills.
Flexibility to work outside standard hours when client or operational requirements call for it.
Who this role suits
You’ll be a strong fit if you understand that selling a safari is about more than making a booking. Clients need someone who can listen carefully, translate their wishes into practical travel plans, communicate changes without confusion, and remain dependable when something unexpected happens.
The ideal candidate is organized, commercially minded, responsive, and genuinely comfortable working with international travellers.
