Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Restaurant Waitress position based in Mombasa County, Kenya.

The Waitress will be responsible for welcoming guests, presenting menus, taking food and beverage orders, and delivering attentive table service throughout the dining experience. Duties include serving food and drinks, explaining menu items and daily specials, responding to customer inquiries, and ensuring tables and service areas are clean and well-maintained.

The role also involves coordinating with kitchen and bar staff, processing payments accurately, and contributing to a friendly and relaxed dining atmosphere that reflects the restaurant’s beachfront environment.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service skills with a warm, professional approach to guests.

• Experience or familiarity with food and beverage service, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality setting.

• Good verbal communication skills for taking orders accurately and interacting with kitchen staff.

• Basic understanding of food preparation or menu items is an added advantage.

• Ability to stand for long periods, carry trays safely, and work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

• Prior experience in high-volume or coastal restaurant environments is an advantage.

• Fluent in English; knowledge of Kiswahili or other languages is beneficial.

• Reliable, punctual, and able to perform effectively in a fast-paced, informal setting.
