Restaurant Service Associate

Primary Purpose

• Welcome guests and provide friendly, efficient food and beverage service in line with established Java service standards.

• Take and accurately process customer orders while ensuring tables, counters, and the wider restaurant remain clean and well maintained.

• Deliver a positive dining experience by responding promptly to customer needs and maintaining high standards of hospitality.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Introduce guests to available menu choices and use suggestive selling techniques based on their preferences.

• Interact professionally with customers throughout their various touchpoints within the restaurant.

• Help customers understand the menu and make suitable selections.

• Keep guests informed about daily specials, new products, and any changes to the available menu.

• Accurately take customer orders and deliver meals and beverages according to the specifications indicated on the order ticket.

• Explain menu items, drinks, restaurant services, and other offerings while responding to customer questions.

• Observe guests during their dining experience and promptly address concerns to maintain customer satisfaction, escalating matters to the manager when necessary.

• Work closely with colleagues to ensure smooth service and a consistently positive guest experience.

• Ensure adequate change is available throughout the shift.

• Manage the shift float responsibly and maintain accurate cash balances without shortages.

• Resolve and clear any counter variances within the required timelines.

• Handle and care for assigned counter equipment and machines.

• Present customer bills promptly and process payments accurately.

• Place store item requests through the Vuka system.

• Receive stock and supplies from Foodscape and other approved suppliers.

• Enter customer orders correctly into the Point-of-Sale system.

• Receive and manage orders coming through aggregator platforms.

• Properly pack customer orders and ensure they are dispatched to the correct guests.

• Clear dining tables after customers leave and maintain clean service counters.

• Support general restaurant cleaning activities and ensure required hygiene standards are consistently maintained.

• Report maintenance, repair, or IT-related problems to the Area Manager.

• Complete all required branch closing procedures at the end of the shift.
